You've Got Mail: DIY for a Good Cause
Jan 5, 2017, 14:50 PM
Bring Winnipeg’s best style into your home! You've Got Mail is your chance to bid on mailboxes made into masterpieces created by Winnipeg’s top style influencers and tastemakers at the Winnipeg Renovation Show for You’ve Got Mail presented by Integrity Painting in support of Siloam Mission.
A sustainable design project that focuses on DIY inspiration, You’ve Got Mail raises awareness and much needed funds for Siloam Mission. This year, 10 influential Winnipeggers will use their creativity to turn a plain mailbox into a masterpiece using a provided $50 budget and whatever their imagination creates.
Visitors will have the chance to bid on these unique pieces to add to their home decor collection. Not only will this give them a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork, but a piece that also gives back. 100% of the silent auction proceeds will directly benefit Siloam Mission to provide opportunities for change for those affected by homelessness.
An exciting line-up of participants ensures that this year’s piece will be unique, on-trend, and sure to add something special to your home. Be sure to check out pieces by Chris D, editor and owner of ChrisD.ca, Alix Michaels, on-air host on 94.3 The Drive, reporters Cheryl Holmes and Rachel Lagace from CTV Winnipeg, our very own Mayor Bowman, and many more!
“You’ve Got Mail brings together influential members of the community for a quirky DIY project that benefits an important cause,” said Jenn Tait, Show Manager for Marketplace Events, producers of the Winnipeg Renovation Show. “It’s a great way to encourage creative thinking and makes giving back fun for both the participants and the show attendees. We’re excited to bring this exciting feature to the show, and can’t wait to see the results!”
All 10 pieces will be on display and open for bidding throughout the entirety of the show in the pre-function area at the West show entrance on level 3. Lovers and enthusiasts of do-it-yourself can also get an added dose of inspiration at the Lifestyle Stage at the Winnipeg Renovation Show, where an exciting roster of speakers and experts will be sharing their best tips and tricks.
The Winnipeg Renovation Show takes over the RBC Convention Centre January 13-15, 2017. With hundreds of home improvement experts ready to help with your next project, it's a must-attend event for Winnipeg homeowners. Don't have tickets yet?
